What is the best time to visit Meghalaya?

The best time to visit Meghalaya is from October to April when the weather is pleasant and ideal for sightseeing. The monsoon season (June-September) brings heavy rainfall, making waterfalls more spectacular but some areas may be difficult to access.

How do I reach Meghalaya?

The nearest airport is Guwahati (Assam), approximately 130 km from Shillong. From Guwahati, you can hire a cab or take a bus to reach Shillong. Guwahati is also well-connected by train and road from major Indian cities.

Is the Living Root Bridge trek difficult?

The Double Decker Living Root Bridge requires a moderate trek of about 3-4 hours (round trip) with 3000+ steps. It requires moderate fitness level. We recommend wearing comfortable trekking shoes and carrying water. Elderly and children should assess their fitness before attempting.

What should I pack for Meghalaya?

Pack comfortable walking shoes, light woolens (even in summer, evenings can be cool), rain gear/umbrella, sunscreen, camera, and personal medications. In winter (Nov-Feb), carry warm clothes as temperatures can drop to 4-10°C.
